Crondon wanted to move from a predominantely static site to a site where they had complete control over virtually every moveable part including choosing rolling background images for each page. We recommended using WordPress as their base CMS as this gives controls out of the box. We then set about enabling the added functionality they were after.
The content for each page is fully editable using a simple editing interface. If they want to change a background image, all they need to do is login, upload the images they want, remove the images they don’t and specify what order they want them displayed.
The Gallery page works in a very similar way to the rolling background images, except the CMS was programmed to generate thumbnails on the left side.
Crondon also wanted to flexibility to change the downloadable PDFs, we made sure they had this at their finger tips.
The Member’s page offered a brief challenge as they wanted to incorporate a live weather forecast feed into the page. We found an API we could link into, and using caching techniques to ensure we didn’t overload the host server and to speed up the user experience, we duly added a weather forecast to their site.
The Crondon site is beautifully elegant, yet packs a powerful punch in terms of functionality.
